Yeah, you have to do things more intensely, but it's a fun challenge so far. The catfish has one of the most frustrating sets of preconditions for any fish in Stardew Valley. Any of these locations have a decent chance of a catfish appearing. It can also be caught in Winter if a Rain Totem is used. You can find it swimming around in the River to the south of your farm, the Secret Woods, or the Witch’s Swamp. It kills me a bit though to think I could have made 20K instead of 10K on that catch (that's 2 days worth of fishing): The Catfish is a fish that can be caught in the river (in Pelican Town or Cindersap Forest ), the Secret Woods, the Witch's Swamp, and the Riverlands Farm or Hill-top Farm during Spring and Fall during rainy weather or in Summer during rainy weather in the Secret Woods and the Witch's Swamp. I caught the first one on Spring 4, still using the bamboo pole.Įven without catfish though, and before Angler, you will be comfortably doing 800-1000 gold per day on lake or river fish. I can't believe I used to think it's not possible to catch the catfish in Spring Y1, without the trap bobber. I got to level 10 and got that +50% fish price. Now, that's pretty much the only skill I'm using. Previously, I mostly did just enough fishing to get maybe level 5 during Spring.
Well, amazing compared to my previous capabilities. It makes you reevaluate some priorities and carefully watch each penny you spend, so it's a bit different than a regular playthrough (at least for me).įor one thing, I got AMAZING at fishing.
